Our suppliers
Did you know that we have a Supplier Charter?
Caffè Borbone adopts its own Supplier Charter, which establishes the principles with which its suppliers of goods and services and contractors must comply. The Charter sets high sustainability standards and ensures greater control over all suppliers who sign up to it.
We love branching out, it’s true, but we also like to honour our local roots: for this reason, excluding coffee, Caffè Borbone has almost 900 suppliers, most of whom Italian with around 1/3 based in the Campania region.
Our coffee suppliers
Where is our coffee from?
The coffee used by Caffè Borbone mainly comes from Uganda, Vietnam, Brazil, Tanzania and India. But the first step is establishing profitable partnerships with coffee importers: for this reason we work with ofi, NKG, ECON and LDC, each of which adopts supplier codes with strict governance, environment and social requirements.
In addition, in 2022 we began sourcing incremental batches of coffee via the ofi AtSource Verified programme, which guarantees:
- traceability of raw materials, with data and detailed info for each geographical area of origin;
- third-party audits, also verifying the application of the ofi Supplier Code;
- initiatives and programmes aimed at the economic, social and environmental development of farmers.
Our focus on food safety
But are we safe? 100%!
We guarantee quality and food safety throughout our entire production process with advanced and integrated management systems which have been awarded official third-party ISO 9001 and IFS Food Standard certification. The IFS standard in particular involves: the adoption of established good practices, an HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) system, a documented quality management system, standard controls for the workplace, product, process and staff.
